Which dry battery is better , alkaline battery or carbon zinc battery ?

Dry battery are increasingly used as disposable batteries for many portable electrical devices due to its compact and portable designs characteristics. They are light weight and easy to carry and store. But Alkaline dry battery and carbon-zinc battery,which one is better? 

The main differences between carbon-zinc dry batteries and alkaline dry batteries include  :

Chemical Principles

Carbon-zinc battery：Electrical energy through the reaction between zinc and manganese dioxide.

Alkaline battery ：Electrical energy through the reaction of zinc and silver oxide.

Voltage

The voltage of carbon-zinc dry battery is usually 1.5 volt.

The voltage of alkaline dry battery is also 1.5 volt, although some alkaline battery may be 1.2 volts.

Environmental Friendliness

Carbon-zinc dry batteries contain heavy metal cadmium and need to be recycled.Compared to carbon-zinc dry batteries. The chemicals of alkaline battery are relatively safe, and the mercury content in environmentally friendly alkaline batteries is extremely low, so they don't need to be recycled.
