What is Nimh Battery?
A Ni - MH battery, short for Nickel - Metal Hydride battery, is a type of rechargeable battery. It is widely used in various electronic devices and has the following characteristics:
Ni - MH batteries use the reversible reaction of metal hydride and nickel hydroxide to store and release electrical energy. During charging, hydrogen is stored in the metal hydride electrode, and during discharging, the hydrogen reacts with the nickel hydroxide electrode to generate electricity.
Advantages:
Ⅰ. Good safety performance: Compared to some other battery types, nimh rechargeable battery is less prone to thermal runaway and other dangerous situations . It also performs relatively well in low - temperature environments, maintaining a certain level of capacity and discharge performance.
Ⅱ. Environmentally friendly : It does not contain toxic heavy metals such as mercury and cadmium ,and comcomplies with environmental protection standards.
Ⅲ. No memory effect: Under normal use (for example, using the ni-mh battery until it is completely run out after being fully charged and then recharging it), ni-mh batteries will not develop a memory effect due to partial charging and discharging. Even if the battery capacity decreases after long-term use, it can still be restored to a level close to the initial capacity (such as over 97%) after being fully recharged.
Ⅳ.Long cycle life :The standard cycle life of ni-mh battery exceeds 500 times. Under normal use, it can reach more than 3000 cycles, and it can still maintain its performance after deep discharging.
Ⅴ. Low self-discharge rate: The capacity retention rate is ≥ 70% after long-term storage, reducing the need for frequent battery replacement.
Ⅵ. Diverse types: Such as those with low self - discharge, high - temperature resistance, and high dischargeable rate performance can be customized to meet the needs of different device.
Applications: Ni - MH batteries are commonly used in digital cameras, camcorders, portable audio players, and some power tools. They are also used in some applications where safety and low - temperature performance are crucial, such as in certain medical devices and military equipment.
