The installed capacity of power batteries decreased but Lithium iron phosphate increased sharply.

Aug 8,2019
According to the analysis data of the Power Battery Application Branch Research Department, the installed capacity of new energy vehicles in 2019 is about 4.7GWh, a year-on-year increase of 40.5% and a decrease of 29% from the previous month.

The data of the installed capacity of power batteries in July was mainly analyzed from four aspects.
First, in terms of models, the installed capacity of power batteries for passenger cars in July increased. Among them, the installed capacity of new energy passenger vehicles was about 2.2GWh, down 54% from the previous month; the installed capacity of new energy special vehicles was about 0.1GWh, down 83% from the previous month; the installed capacity of new energy buses was about 2.4GWh, up 109% from the previous month.

Second, in terms of power batteries, lithium iron phosphate was the only power battery in July. The installed capacity of lithium iron phosphate was about 2.6 GWh, an increase of 44.82% from the previous month.

Third, from the perspective of package form, the installed capacity of the three types of batteries has declined collectively. Among them, the square-shaped battery core decreased by 20%, the soft-packed battery core decreased by 37%, and the cylindrical-type battery core decreased by 84%.

Fourth, in terms of battery companies, Yiwei Li can be close to the top three, and Ka Nai is in the top five. The sum of the installed capacity of the Ningde era and the BYD double giant accounted for 79% of the installed capacity of the new energy vehicle market.
